Obituary for Glenn Terry Winnett

Glenn Terry Winnett
Glenn Terry Winnett, age 73 of Spring Hill, TN passed away on January 8, 2018. Born in McMinnville, Tennessee, on April 28th, 1944, Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Carolyn Ruth Allred-Winnett and his parents, Charles Aubrey and Willie Redmon Winnett. He is survived by his daughter, Terry Ruth Winnett Zimmer (Jeremy), and his granddaughter who lovingly called him “Popsicle,” Addie Ruth Zimmer of Columbia, Tennessee. Glenn graduated from Middle Tennessee State College in 1966 with his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology and Math and enjoyed a long career in the industrial electronic industry before his retirement from Carlton-Bates Company in Nashville in 2005. Glenn and Carolyn were Studebaker fanatics, and enjoyed many fulfilling years as members of the Middle Tennessee Studebaker Drivers Club. Glenn enjoyed restoring Studebakers in his spare time. Glenn was the perfect "Daddy." He could do anything, lift anything, make anything, fix anything. He could make people laugh with his funny faces, jokes, and Donald Duck voice. Glenn enjoyed a hot cup of coffee every morning with three spoonful’s of sugar and two of cream. He enjoyed telling stories about his days at MTSU and buying Krystal burgers for "a dime a piece." Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in Columbia, Pastors Bob Vassar & John Harris officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Friday at the church and one hour prior to service Saturday. Entombment will follow the service at Spring Hill Memorial Park, Evergreen Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Larry Cobb, Tom Stevenson, James “Hoss” Wright, Tony Savage, Randy Stanfill and Paul Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Middle TN Studebaker Drivers Club, Kenneth Parsley, Wendell Spicer, and Mike Sharpton. Memorial contributions may be made to the COPD Foundation.
