Obituary for James Alan "Jim" Goldstein

James Alan "Jim" Goldstein
James Alan “Jim” Goldstein, age 62, of Brentwood, TN passed away September 28, 2019. Born in St. Louis, MO, Jim received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and was a lifelong passionate fan of the St. Louis Blues. Jim was a loving and loyal husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him, and he will be surely missed by all.

A pillar of the Nashville hockey community, Jim dedicated many hours to both playing goalie in his men’s league and to referring hockey games of all levels. Jim had recently received a special referee patch and commendation recognizing his 25 years of service to USA Hockey. Jim was a beloved teammate, mentor, and volunteer in the Nashville hockey community.

Jim very much enjoyed helping people through his role as a Senior IT Recruiter while working as a team member and mentor in his local office of Solomon Page. He truly enjoyed his work family and felt blessed to be there.

Jim was a member of Brentwood Baptist Church, where he was baptized along side his beloved daughter. An honorable family man, Jim enjoyed spending time with his wife of 33 years, Rosie, and cheering on his daughter Elizabeth with her many career and life adventures. He also served willingly as “tech support” for his wife, Rosie. Additionally, Jim loved spending time at home with his family and special cats, Nala and TJ.

Preceded in death by his father, Stuart Irwin Goldstein. Survived by his wife, Rosemary Nastasee Goldstein of Brentwood, TN; daughter, Elizabeth Anne Goldstein (Dale) Wolfe of Nashville, TN; mother, Eleanor “Bubbie” Goldstein of St. Peters, MO; brother, Steven Scott Goldstein of St. Peters, MO; nieces, Carter, Emerson & Claire Goldstein of Detroit, MI and other loving family members, numerous friends, co-workers, and hockey buddies.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Friday, October 4, 2019, at Brentwood Baptist Church – Baskin Chapel, Pastor Gayle Haywood officiating. Burial will follow at Williamson Memorial Gardens, Franklin, TN. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to any Youth Hockey League charity of your choice or to the Williamson Co. or Cheatham Co. Animal Shelters. Visitation will be 4-8PM Thursday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at Brentwood Baptist.
