Adolph Fredrick "Fred" Vedder, age 84, of Spring Hill, passed away on January 31, 2019 at Williamson Medical Center. Fred was born on June 13, 1934 to Adolph Jacob Vedder and Dorothy Korschgen, and was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Durham. He attended Western Military Academy, Annapolis, and Washington University in St. Louis. He joined the United States Marine Corps and completed the Naval Air Training Command in 1958 in Pensacola, Florida; he later was commissioned to the rank of Captain in 1962. He married the love of his life, Mary Lee Bishop, on February 14, 1959 at Hope Church in St. Louis. They would have been married sixty years this February. Fred and Mary lived all around the country, including St. Louis, Woodland Hills in California, and retired at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. They made their last move to Franklin, Tennessee to be closer to their grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Vedder; his children, Marlane Lee Ryan (Gary) and Kurt Vedder (Bridget); his four grandchildren, Alexandra, Andrew, Danika, and Dane; and his dog Chloe and his cat Precious.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be directed to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He was both a proud Shriner and Free Mason during his entire life. He was a member of good standing at the Hiram Masonic Lodge in Franklin and was recently honored for being a member of fifty years. He will be buried in St. Louis, Missouri at Sunset Memorial Park in his family plot.
