Alice RN

Mrs. Alice L'Esperance Wallace, R.N., of Franklin, TN (Millview Community), 92, Born on Martha's Vineyard Island on October 22, 1922 and passed away on February 10, 2015. She graduated with honors from Ludlow High School in 1940. In Spring 1941, she entered Boston City Hospital, Nursing Program, and graduated in May 1944 with her R.N. degree. Introduced by a mutual friend to William Marvin Wallace, they later married in Franklin, TN. Shortly after they married, Marvin was shipped out by the US Navy to the South Pacific Fleet. He was honorably discharged in September 1945 at the end of the war. They lived in Flat Creek, TN, Ludlow, MA, and then returned to make Franklin, TN their home. She worked at Maury County Regional, Dan German Hospital, Williamson County Hospital, and then retired as Director of Outpatient Nursing from Williamson Medical Center at the age of 69, in 1991. She was the first registered nurse hired at Williamson County Hospital, later named to the Who's Who in American Nursing, 1988-89, and played a large role in opening Williamson Medical Center. A devoted member of Franklin First UMC & Epworth UMC. Proceeded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Marvin Wallace, son, Danny Wallace, daughter, Barbara Hope Wallace, sisters, Marama Breuninger, Virginia Dansereau, and Gladys Wallace. Survived by daughter, Emily W. Hudson, son, Bill Wallace (Beth); grandchildren, Angie W. Osburn (Bruce), Jenny W. House (Eddie), Will Wallace (Becca), Devon H. Morris (Jason), John Wallace (Stacy); great grandchildren, Christi O. Johnson (Bobby), Ryan Osburn (Amanda); Cole and Cade Wallace, Addyson and Olivia Cate Morris, Gracelynne Wallace; great-great grandchildren, Tripp Johnson, and Laura Kendall. Sisters, Doris Loos (Ralph), Gert Shea (Rol), Marilyn Fish (Gene), Beverly Chenaille; Brother, Richard Eisold. Visitation to be held at Williamson Memorial, 3009 Columbia Avenue, Franklin, TN on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, 4pm-8pm and Thursday, February 12, 2015, 9am-11am, at Epworth United Methodist, 4340 Arno Rd., Franklin, TN. Funeral service following at 11am, Rev. Donna Parramore officiating, Burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Franklin, TN.
