Allen Winters

Allen Lynn Winters, age 80 of Franklin, TN passed away August 2, 2016 at his home. Born in Ionia, Michigan to the late Angus & Eleanor Middleton Winters. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during the Korean Conflict. He served as Military Police when he returned from Japan to the States. Allen was a former fireman and police Sergeant in Michigan. He went into the insurance industry and retired as Claims Manager with Auto Owners Insurance Company in Brentwood, TN. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Winters; son, Allen (Sheila) Winters; daughter, Melanie (Milburn) Hogue; brother, Kenneth (Brenda) Gilman; sister, Edith Houseman; grandchildren, Ryan Winters, Eric (Cate) Nilsen, Amy Winters and Aaron Hogue. Funeral service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Oak Valley Baptist Church, Dr. Jerry Winfield and James McLemore officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be The Believers and TLC Class. Memorials may be made to Oak Valley Baptist Church Missions or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Visitation will be 6-9PM Wednesday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at Oak Valley Baptist Church.
