Anita Jane Smithson

Anita Jane Smithson, a beloved member of her community, passed away on January 21, 2025, in Columbia, TN, at the age of 69. Born on September 21, 1955, in Franklin, TN, Anita lived her life with a passion for providing care and service to others, particularly in her career as a self-employed cleaning professional. She dedicated herself to her work, always bringing a warm and conscientious touch to every home she entered.

Anita’s kindness and love were evident in her deep affection for animals, especially her beloved dogs, who brought her great joy throughout her life. Her caring personality and unwavering support for those around her earned her the love and respect of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Anita is survived by her devoted husband, Wayne Smithson; her cherished son, Chad (Chelsea) Smithson; and her adoring granddaughter, Lillian Smithson. She is also survived by her sisters, Rita Puckett, Brenda (Larry) Gilliam, and Linda Rome, who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Johnson, and her mother, Nettie Bea Wilson Johnson. Their memory will forever remain a part of Anita's legacy.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Anita’s life on January 27, 2025, at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Franklin, TN. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Anita’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones, who are left to cherish the memories and the love she so freely shared.
