Ann Davis

Ann Cummings Davis, age 86 of Franklin, TN passed away May 15, 2016. Beloved wife and mother, Ann is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Darden Earle Davis, Jr.; daughter, Caroline Cummings Davis; brother Francis Grey (Sharon) Cummings and nephews, Christopher Cummings and Jonathan (Bridget) Cummings. Born in McMinnville (in the mansion now known as Falcon Rest) to the late Evelyn Garmon Cummings and Wiley Grey Cummings, she graduated from Central High School in 1948. Ann earned her R.N. degree from Mid State Baptist Hospital Nursing School, and while a student nurse at Baptist met the love of her life, Darden Davis. Ann nursed Darden through tonsil surgery and they were partners in life and love ever since, marrying in 1951. A proud Air Force wife, she and Darden lived in Tripoli, Libya, Charleston, SC and the Washington DC area before coming back home to Middle Tennessee in 1971. Ann was a pediatric nurse for Dr. Dan Sanders and Dr. Mary Keown until her retirement. A devoted member of Concord Road Church of Christ, she was renowned for her generosity and kindness (with her contributions of cakes, pies and other goodies especially treasured). Funeral service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Concord Road Church of Christ, 8221 Concord Rd. Brentwood, TN 37027. Dan Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8PM Tuesday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
