CChristine O'Bryan Sparkman age 102 died peacefully in her sleep on December 27,2017 in Franklin TN.
Christine is survived by her son Richard Hanes Sparkman Jr (Laura) and daughters Patsy Sparkman Morel (Bobby) and Judy Sparkman Travirca (Chet); 6 grandchildren, Brittan Morel Bliss (Erik) Meg Morel, Hayden Morel Masterson (Tom), Richard Hanes Sparkman III, Jessica Lynne Higgins (Alessio Pasini) and Jennifer Leigh Higgins; as well as three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Richard Hanes Sparkman. Christine was born on August 27, 1915 in Owensboro Kentucky to Dr. M.E. O'Bryan and Susie Hayden O'Bryan.
Christine and her husband Richard were active business owners within the Franklin community opening Sparkman Cleaners in 1952 and Sparkman Jewelers in 1964. Sparkman Jewelers continued as a staple of the Franklin community until it closed in 2004.
Christine was an avid sports fan known for her knowledge of team trivia. She enjoyed spending her later years watching any game she could and kept up with the ranking of each team. In her earlier years she enjoyed tennis, water skiing, playing bridge and reading. She was a beloved member of the Franklin Community remembered fondly for the influence she made on so many.
Christine's family would like to thank her many special caregivers at Morningside Assisted Living and The Hearth in Franklin TN. The special love and care you gave our mother did not go unnoticed.
Visitation will be held at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin TN on Wednesday
January 3, 2018 from 12:00pm -2:00pm with funeral service at 2:30pm. Interment will follow at
Alexander Cemetery on Beechcroft RD, Spring Hill, TN.
