Bettye June Blessing Plant, age 89, of Franklin, TN died Jan 27,2018 in Nashville, TN. Bettye was born in Lawrenceburg on June 27, 1928 to the late Ernest and Gertrude Blessing. Bettye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Plant and son Joe Plant. Survivors include her daughter, Donna(Bill) Thomas, grandson, Tyler (Gina) Bowman, great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Isabella Bowman, sister, Ernestine "Tina" (Coyle) Hazelwood, and many nieces and nephews. Bettye grew up as the daughter of a Methodist Minister and lived in numerous places throughout Middle TN serving many churches and serving the Lord. She was a long-time member of Franklin First United Methodist Church. Bettye devoted herself to her family, church family and friends. She surrounded herself with all the joys life has to offer. She had a heart of gold and offered her support to anyone in need. Her gentle spirit and presence had a calming effect on any situation and she was the epitome of a true Southern lady. Her faith and spirit were an inspiration to anyone who ever met her.
Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday Jan 30 from 5-8:00pm and on Wednesday Jan 31 from 10-11:00am at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home where Services will be conducted at 11:00am on Wednesday Jan 31, 2018. Dr. Lynn Hill officiate. Interment to follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Serving as Pallbearers are Dean, Tony, Justin, and Will Hazelwood, Bradley, Kelly, and George Felix. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Horace Edgemon Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Franklin First UMC 120 Aldersgate Way, Franklin,TN 37069.
