Billie Alean Carter Hoobler, 88, of Franklin, TN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 surrounded by her family. Billie was born on October 24, 1930 in Lepanto, Arkansas, the daughter of James and Edith Carter. She married Alfred James Hoobler on September 13, 1958 in Dearborn, Michigan and he preceded her in death on January 6, 1993. Mrs. Hoobler was a distinguished Teacher for over 30 years in Michigan and a Graduate of the University of Michigan. Billie loved the Lord and enjoyed being in Bible Study for many years where she also served. She was a Member of Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood, TN and she sang in the Senior Choir. Billie loved to golf, sew, garden and spend time with her Grandchildren, whom she adored. Survivors include her Daughter, Heather Thurman of Franklin, Tennessee and her Son, Michael Hoobler of Whittemore, Michigan; four Grandchildren; Lisa Borenski of Plymouth, Michigan, Elizabeth Thurman of Franklin, TN, Mikey Hoobler of Boston, MA and Sarah Thurman of Chicago, IL and Four Great Grandchildren; sister, Jimmie Sue Mathis of Chandler, Arizona. Preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Carter of Leslie, Arkansas. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 18th at 2:00p.m. at Kuykendall Cemetery in Oxley, Arkansas with Pastor Chris Reade of First Baptist Leslie officiating.
