Billy Calloway Bills was born in rural Marshall County on June 18, 1935. His parents were James Ralph Bills and Laura Lois Calloway Bills. He is survived by his brother, Bobby Ralph Bills, and his wife, Mae. Fifty-one years ago, he married Linda June McWilliams on June 23, 1967 at 10 A.M. They were blessed to have two children, James Lamar and Laura Fay, and four grandchildren, Sara Margaret Bills and Calloway Reeves Bills, whose mother is Lara Reeves Bills and Jay Thomas Essner and Bryce Patrick Essner, whose father is Jonathan Richard Essner, all of whom survive.
Bill was a Christian man who was always willing to help those in need - from the Inner City ministries to the therapeutic horseback riding programs for disabled children or those with cancer, from the Rescue Mission to the forgotten, disadvantaged in Appalachia or just the homeless person trying to sell a Contributor, Bills wanted to support them all and to spur others to love and good deeds as Hebrews 10:24, which was one of very favorite Bible verses, admonishes us to do.
Bill was a hard worker all of his life - from his childhood though his entire career as he supported his family to his last days of retirement - he never quit working.
His favorite pastimes were playing golf, enjoying his grandchildren's activities, and mowing the grass on his acre yard.
Bill was a loving and devoted husband, Dad and Pop. All of his family will miss him dearly.
Graveside services will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Williamson Memorial Gardens with visitation from 10AM-12Noon at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home.
Because their focus is helping the forgotten poor in Appalachia by providing them with a source of water, his favorite charity was Run4Water, 1890 Hwy. 231 S., Castalian Springs, TN, 37031.
