HARDISON, Mr. Bobby West "Coach" was born June 3, 1930. He passed peacefully on September 7, 2014. Preceded in death by his parents, Wilma & Cecil Hardison of Lewisburg, TN and brothers, Edward and Neil Hardison. Bobby is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anne Ledford Hardison. Also surviving are his two daughters, Kimberly (Guil) Ezell of Franklin and Kai Hardison of Louisville, KY; his grandson, J.D. (Meg) Eddins and great-granddaughters, Gabie, Lexie and Lucie; step-grandsons, Isaac (Carolyn) Ezell and Joseph Ezell; step-great grandchildren, Sage & Glory. Bobby is also survived by a sister, Christine Gipson of Lewisburg, TN and a host of nieces and nephews. Bobby graduated from Marshall Co. High School in 1948 where he was an outstanding athlete. He attended Cumberland University for one semester and when football was discontinued he matriculated to Middle TN State University where he lettered in football, wrestling and baseball, graduating in 1952. He was drafted by the Army in 1952 and served until 1954. He then returned to MTSU and obtained his Masters degree in 1955. He married Anne Ledford on July 4, 1953 and said there were always fireworks on their anniversary. Bobby coached hundreds of young men both in Savannah, GA and in Franklin, TN. He coached football, baseball, track & field and began the first wrestling program in 1965 at Franklin High. He was inducted into the FHS Sports Hall of Fame in 2010. He also served as principal at Northside Junior High, now Brentwood Middle for nearly 20 years. Bobby loved his faculty, his players, his students, his church family and his physical family greatly. Faithful member of the Church of Christ, serving as both a deacon and elder at Fourth Avenue Church of Christ and faithful member at Berry's Chapel the last twelve years of his life. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00AM Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Fourth Avenue Church of Christ. Burial will 1:00PM Tuesday at Bryant Cemetery in Mooresville, TN. Active pallbearers will be Isaac Ezell, Joseph Ezell, Steve Pantall, John McCord, Nick Waggner and Dudley Davis. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Fund or Berry's Chapel Church of Christ Missions Fund. Visitation will be 3-8PM Monday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the Fourth Avenue Church of Christ.
