Carl Perry Henry passed away peacefully at his home in Nolensville, Tennessee, on March 30, 2025, at the age of 91. He was surrounded by his loving family, who were all touched by his remarkable life and dedication to his family and his Creator.
Born on August 12, 1933, on Manley Road in the Grassland community of Franklin, and raised in Leipers Fork, TN, Perry devoted his professional life to mechanical engineering (Tennessee Tech grad) for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, NASA, and the Department of Energy. His commitment to his work exemplified his dedication to his family, his community, and his country.
A member of the Concord Road Church of Christ, Perry was known for his unwavering faith and benevolence. He also served as a deacon at the Karns Church of Christ in Knoxville, TN and the Fanning Heights Church of Christ in Huntsville, AL.
Perry was an avid golfer, and a Tennessee Volunteer fan, but his greatest joy came from watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren compete, perform, and serve the Lord. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Green Henry, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Together they raised 4 children, blessing them with 14 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. His children, Tracy Henry and wife Becky, Todd Henry and wife Emilee, Travis Henry and wife Carrie, Tandy Waller and husband Adam; his grandchildren, Brett (Charity) Henry, Peyton (Brittany) Henry, Blake Henry, Somer Henry, Caroline Henry, Finn Henry, Gates Henry, Ellie Henry, Leah (Jake) Armstrong, Ruthie (Connor) Shoup, Gracey Henry, Emmaline Waller, Genevieve Waller, and Henry Waller. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Henry and wife Brenda.
Perry was preceded in death by his father, Austin Carl Henry, his mother, Jenny Louise Henry, and his brother, Houston Henry. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Sunday, April 6, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM, both held at the Williamson Memorial Funeral Home located at 3009 Columbia Avenue, Franklin, TN. The burial will take place immediately after the service at Williamson Memorial Gardens.
