Caroline Best

Caroline Grace Best, age 77, passed away April 3, 2015 in Lawrenceville, GA. Caroline grew up in Memphis, TN and was a longtime resident of Franklin, TN. She enjoyed flower gardens, the performing arts, animals and nature, and was an avid reader. She treasured her friends and family and was known as "Sweet Caroline" by many who loved her. She genuinely cared for others and showed it through her many thoughtful ways. She was employed by the federal government, first with the Small Business Administration and later retired from the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Middle District of TN as a Legal Assistant.
She is survived by her daughter Laura Lanier; sister, Eleanor Thompson; nieces, Tracy Sneed and Savannah Whitehurst; nephews, Walt Bettis and Andrew Bettis.
She was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Gertrude Etling; sister, Barbara Bettis and niece, Kathryn Bettis.
