Catherine Elizabeth Russell "Betty" Ray, age 79 of Franklin, TN passed away September 25, 2018. Born in Maury County, TN to the late Robert Jones Russell, Sr. and Sara Elizabeth Petway Russell. She was a retired Administrative Assistant with The United Methodist Board of Higher Education and Ministry. Preceded in death by husband, James Edgar Ray. Survived by: daughter, Katherine (Ray) Chandler; grandchildren, Sarah Chandler (Matt) Hammonds and Bentley Ray Chandler; brother, Robert J "Bobby" (Ann) Russell; nieces, Debbie (Chris) Newman, Wanda (Mark) Sawyer, Melissa Riley and Allison Riley; sister in law & brother in law, Alice (Patrick) Riley. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Rev. David Bradley and Rev. L. Ray Chandler, Jr. officiating. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Bentley Chandler, Matt Hammonds, Chris Newman, Mark Sawyer, James Paul Gary, Joe Spencer Gary, Tom Fleming and Glen Redman. Honorary pallbearers will be Spring Hill Class of 1957, Judy Fleming, Georgeann McCoy, Linda Redman, Glenda Bowman, Don Savage and Employees of The G.B.H.E.M. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church Youth Group.
