Charles Clarkson

CLARKSON, Mr. Charles Walter "Chuck", age 70 of Dickson, TN formerly of Franklin, TN passed away May 4, 2012 after injuries sustained from an automobile accident. He was Chief Operations Officer with CS&A and has been in the insurance industry for nearly 50 years. He was a lifetime fixture in youth athletics in Williamson County. He coached, officiated and helped administer youth programs where many now grown children will remember him. Some of his best days were when a grown man or woman would see him and remind him of a story about playing sports where he had been involved. In addition to coaching, he was the public address announcer for Franklin High School where he volunteered his time for 21 years as play-by-play announcing for Rebels basketball and five years for football. Inducted into the Franklin High School Hall of Fame. Member of Rotary Club where he was the recipient of the Paul Harris Award. Loving husband, dedicated father and grandfather who was always there for his family. He will be greatly missed by all. Survived by: wife, Peggy Clarkson; sons, Charlie (Rhonda) Clarkson & Andy (Janet) Clarkson; daughter, Allison (Nathan) Neal; step daughter, Jennifer (Greg) Hudgins; mother, Allene Clarkson; brothers, Thomas (Kay) Clarkson & Bill Clarkson; grandchildren, Chandler, Kendall & Kennedy Clarkson, Holston & Hollis Neal, Rachel & Sydney Hudgins. Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Rev. Sally Hughes officiating. Honorary pallbearers, Bob Deal, Jenks Hayes & Ed Wilson. A private family inurnment will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Breakfast at Franklin Rotary Club or The Golfhouse of Tennessee.
