Charles Sebron Jones, age 79 of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, passed away December 4, 2023. Born in Monticello, Florida to the late Lafayette and Pearl Jones, Charlie attended the University of Florida’s College of Pharmacy, where he was a member of the judo club and an enthusiastic Gator sports fan. Following graduation, he worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Eli Lilly & Company from 1967 to 1993, and later spent nearly 20 years as a pharmacist at Publix stores in Winter Haven and Leon County before retiring in 2011. Charlie’s many hobbies included racquetball, carpentry, and computers. His favorite pastimes, though, were attending his children’s sporting events, largemouth bass fishing at Tenoroc in Polk County, and enjoying the sourdough bread and homemade goodies with which his beloved wife Sue spoiled him. An avid reader and ever curious, Charlie drew people in with his warmth and kindness.
Charlie is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Sue Ann Smith Jones of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; daughters Angela Marie Jones of Portland, Oregon, and Deborah Ann (Kevin) Tilbury of Franklin, Tennessee; stepdaughters Amanda Marie Smith and Laura Ann (Scott) Toussaint of Alexandria, Virginia, whom he loved as his own; and grandchildren Marisa, Anna, Ben, and twins Anna and Margaret. Memorials may be made to the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM at First Methodist Church in Monticello, Florida.
