Clyde Stephens, Jr.

November 11, 1937 — February 15, 2016

Clyde Stephens, Jr. age 78 of Franklin, TN went to be with the Lord February 15, 2016. Founder of Williamson Memorial & Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Homes. Born in Marshall County, TN to the late Clyde Sr. and Wilma McCrory Stephens. He was a longtime resident of Williamson County. Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Clyde started in the funeral industry in 1969 working at the former Franklin Memorial Chapel and in 1972, he began managing Williamson Memorial Gardens. During this time he served as the Williamson County Coroner. Later in 1980 he founded Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and in 2000, along with his family opened Spring Hill Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Spring Hill, TN. He served two terms as the President of the Cemetery Association of Tennessee and was named Cemeterian of the Year in 1999. He served in various leadership roles with the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association serving as President in 2004-2005. Lifetime member of Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and member of the Bethesda Masonic Lodge #201. Past President of the Franklin Noon Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow recipient. Member of VFW Post 4893. He served on several board of directors with various community organizations and was the recipient of the 2003 Legend Award presented by Williamson County-Franklin Chamber of Commerce. Preceded in death by sister, Mary Irene Lloyd; brother in-law, Buddy Jennette. Survived by sons, David (Dawn) Stephens and Gary (Pam) Stephens; daughter, Pam (Tim Kalthoff) Stephens; sister, Dorothy Jennette; grandchildren, Matt Martin, Mandi (Steadman) Marlin, Casey (Cristy) Stephens, Chris (Lindsee Bernet) Stephens and Marlee Stephens; great-grandchildren, Stirlin & Langley Marlin, Matti Martin and Everett Stephens; mother of his children, Nellie Jo Stephens and many other loving family members. Visitation will be 2-8PM Wednesday, 2-8PM Thursday and two hours prior to the service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00AM Friday, February 19, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Magnolia Mausoleum at Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Allen Brown Marlin, Tim Marlin, Walter McGee, Lonny Hazelwood, Ernie Greer, Bubba Alexander, Sterling Marlin and Raymond Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be Staff of Williamson Memorial & Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Homes, Franklin Noon Rotary, Tennessee Funeral Directors Association and VFW Post 4893. The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Senior Living and Comfort Keepers for their wonderful care. Memorials may be made to Mt.
