Dan Rivers

Dan W. "Sonny" Rivers, age 86 of Franklin, TN passed away October 11, 2016. Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Lifelong resident of Franklin where he was a self-employed farmer. Preceded in death by parents, Dan & Barbara Rivers; sister, Fannie Ladd; grandson, William Daniel Rivers. Survived by wife of 60 years, Ruby Proctor Rivers; son, Danny (Jennifer) Rivers; daughter, Sherrie (Kenneth) Armstrong; brother, Will (Marie) Rivers; sisters, Mattie Evelyn Davenport, Sylvia (Leon) Tywater & Joyce Ragsdale; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Will) Davis, Brad Armstrong, Angela (Heath) Fitzgerald, Ali (Ben) Boyce and Abi Armstrong; five great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00AM Friday, October 14, 2016, Jim Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Family & Friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association. The family wants to thank the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro staff, doctors and nurses for their loving care for Sonny.
