Dane Andrew Covert

Dane Andrew Covert, age 62, of Dickson, TN passed away on June 25, 2024 in Franklin, TN. 

Dane was born in Alexandria, VA on May 12, 1962 to William Andrew Covert and Mary Margaret Alexander. He went to school at Woodbridge Senior High School where he met his wife, JoAnn Ruby Carlisle. They later married in 1991 and resided in Dumfries, VA. During their time together they were blessed with two beautiful daughters. The family moved to Dickson in 1997 to be closer to his mother and son, Drew Covert. Dane found his greatest joy in his four grandchildren who held a special place in his heart. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will last a lifetime. 

Dane was a man of many passions. He loved spending his free time fishing and kayaking, finding peace and joy in the tranquility of nature. He had a very creative mind when it came to creating things out of wood, rocks, or things in nature. He was an avid animal lover and raised various types of animals throughout his life. 

Dane spent most of his career working in the auto body field before finding his true passion working as a heavy equipment operator for J & R Garden, Stone and Rental.  

Dane is preceded in death by his father, William Covert and mother, Mary Covert. Those left to cherish his sweet memory are his wife, JoAnn Covert of Bon Aqua, TN; daughters, Brittany (Justin) Hoover of Okeechobee, FL, and Katrina (Mackaye) Gribbins of Burns, TN; a brother, Shane Covert (Lisa Alexander) of Fredericksburg, VA; and four grandchildren, Ella, Sutton, Hallie, and Connor. 

Visitation with the family will be at the Williamson Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with services to follow.
