David Russell Lewis, 84, of Franklin, passed away on December 13th, 2024. David was born in upstate New York to Russell and Helen Lewis on October 7th, 1940. He attended Hermes High School and later continued his education in the United States Military. David worked in the technical field at IBM for many years until his retirement.
Dave was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Marines. He was awarded the Marksman Badge, the Good Conduct Medal (1st and 2nd awards), the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Pistol Sharpshooter Badge, the Rifle Expert Badge, and the National Defense Service Medal.
Throughout his life, Dave earned numerous accolades both professionally and personally. He was a devoted husband, an excellent father, and a positive role model to all. Dave was a kind and giving person, always making room in his home for both family and friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Helen Lewis; his first wife, Maryanne; his second wife, Leah Lewis; and his sister, Barbara Perkins. He is survived by his sister, Pam Grice; his children, Michael Lewis, Jimmy Lewis, and Kathy Lewis; his grandchildren, Christopher, Alec, Natalie, Nicholas, Christina, Jared, Kara, Jennifer, and Rick; his great-grandchildren, Jacob, Addison, and Paige; and his stepchildren, Nelson Bordeau and Leah Bordeau.
