Deborah Clarke

February 25, 1958 — January 25, 2015

Deborah Marie Johnson Clarke, Deborah will be fondly remembered for her deep love for her family and friends, her generosity to numerous individuals, her thoughtfulness in remembering special days and ability to make each day special. Anyone that knew Deborah will miss her one of a kind approach to life. We lost Deborah to the ages on January 25, 2015, after a valiant, almost ten year-long, battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and enveloped in the love of her many friends. She was born in Detroit, MI and raised in Cleveland, OH but lived the last twenty-six years in Middle Tennessee. Deborah excelled at everything she attempted from being a Demonette in high school to her love of water and snow skiing. When she graduated with high distinction from the University of Michigan - Dearborn in 1981 she was selected as the outstanding business school graduate. She had an extremely successful business career that ranged from working for John Connally, former governor of Texas and secretary of the Navy and Treasury to working with several successful Nashville area start-up companies. Her love of music was legend. From an early age she loved attending concerts and in recent months had seen the Rolling Stones, Three Dog Night, Cher and the Moody Blues. Deborah was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marie and Frederick (Fritz) Stoyke and Olga and Albert Johnson. She is survived by her dearest love - her son - Alex (Taylor) Clarke; her devoted parents, Roland and Charlotte Johnson; brother Chris (Carla) Johnson, sister Cathy (John) Holman; and aunt and uncle Loretta and Bob Bleckman. Deborah is also survived by her dedicated and loving husband, Tim Wallace - who will dearly miss her companionship - three step children and three step-grandchildren. In addition Deborah will be fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at The Red House, 138 Third Avenue North, Franklin, TN. A Celebration of Life Cruise will be held in the Spring for family and close friends to accompany Deborah on her last houseboat cruise to scatter her ashes on what she believed to be the only lake in Tennessee - Center Hill Lake. In lieu of flowers, Deborah would have preferred you to provide assistance to a less fortunate individual providing kindness and assistance in their time of need. Think of her as you do so and you will truly honor her. WILLIAMSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 615-794-2289. www.williamsonmemorial.com
