Born in Nashville, TN on August 16, 1929 and passed on January 15, 2019 at her home in McDonough, GA due to Alzheimers. She graduated from Central High School in 1947 and was employed for 27 years by First American National Bank in Nashville. She was predeceased by her husband John Downs, her father and mother Wesley and Inez Beaty, and brother Jack L. Beaty, Sr. She is survived by her sister Carol Haynes and brother-in-law Charles Ernest Haynes, two nieces Shannon (Bobby Daniel) Jennifer (Keven Teague), nephew Jack L. Beaty, Jr., five great nieces, and two great nephew. Visitation, Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin, TN followed by graveside service at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity. The family wishes to thank Southern Grace Hospice McDonough, GA for their loving care of Jean for the last year of her life.
