Mrs. Dorthie Ryan Hughes, age 90, of Valley Head, AL, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 at her residence.

She was born on December 7, 1928 in Franklin, TN to Thomas Henry "Buster" Ryan & Willie Wauford Ryan. Mrs. Hughes retired from AT&T as a switchboard operator.

Survivors: Daughter: Linda "Lyn" Lipscomb Black-Valley Head, AL; Granddaughter: Emily Black Bottomlee (Mark)-Valley Head, AL; Great-Grandchildren: Isaac, Japheth, Isabella, Gabriel & Lincoln; Brother: William Richard Ryan (Louise)-Nashville, TN; Sister-in-law: Janice Ryan-Franklin, TN; 1 Niece & Several Nephews;

Preceded in death by: Husband: Kenneth E. Hughes; Brother: Thomas Henry Ryan Jr.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2019. Interment will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens.
