Doug received his MDIV and Psy. D from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA in 1985 and 1993,
respectively. Prior to moving to Lynnville, TN, Dr. Emerson lived on Cape Cod, MA for ten years, where he started his private psychology practice. Since living in Giles Co, Dr. Emerson ran a private psychology practice, worked in nursing homes across Middle Tennessee, and volunteered as a grief counselor for both the County and City Police Force.
Dr. Emerson, a fervent servant of the Lord, devoted his life to helping others. When not serving others, Dr.
Emerson was a loving, inspiring, and compassionate husband and father to his four children and wife, Jenny - his best friend.
Dr. Emerson's funeral will be held on Monday, January 2nd, , 2:00pm at St. Ignatius Orthodox Church in Franklin, TN. His family has elected to forego the traditional wake and visitation service the night before the funeral, and instead, has decided to host a fellowship hour at the St. Ignatius reception hall, following the funeral service.
In honor of Dr. Douglas Emerson's undying love for compassionate leadership and desire to understand others, Doug and his family wish to dedicate a scholarship fund in his name. In lieu of flowers or gifts to the family, we ask that you make a donation, of any size, to the Dr. Douglas Emerson Compassionate Leader Scholarship Fund.
The entire Emerson family wishes to graciously thank the friends, neighbors, and community for the prayers, well wishes and precious visits, prior to Dr. Emerson passing away.
