Douglas Meberg

MEBERG, Mr. Douglas Walter, age 68 of Franklin, TN, June 2, 2014. Born July 9, 1945 to Arne and Selma Meberg in Brooklyn, NY. Veteran of the US Army in the Vietnam War. He worked as an IT Manager in the Health Insurance industry with the same company for 43 years, retiring in 2013. Active in church life, pouring his life into teaching children and youth for over 45 years. Ran several marathons and races. Bravely fought brain cancer for 18 months thanks to doctors at St. Thomas Hospital and Tennessee Oncology. Survived by wife, Audrey Keimig Meberg; sons, Keith (Patricia) Meberg, Erik (Laura) Meberg & Kyle Meberg; daughter, Karen (Bill) Hailey; sister, Doris (Robert) Hoffmann; sister in-laws, Kathleen Keimig & Renee Meberg; eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00AM Friday, June 6, 2014 at Christ Community Church, 1215 Hillsboro Rd. Franklin, TN. Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Interment, Williamson Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Tennessee March of Dimes, 1101 Kermit Dr. Suite 201 Nashville, TN 37217, the St. Thomas Dan Rudy Cancer Center or Christ Community Church.
