FOSTER, Dr. David H. of Franklin, TN, born October 16, 1953 in Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away in his sleep on April 2, 2012. David met his wife Paula in the third grade, started dating her in high school and married her on February 18, 1972. They served together in Christian ministry along with raising three beautiful daughters over the last 40 years. David graduated from Free Will Baptist Bible College, received his Masters in Divinity from Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary and received his doctorate from Reformed Theological Seminary. He was the Founding Pastor of The Gathering - Nashville and the author of three books (Power to Prevail, Accept No Mediocre Life and A Renegade's Guide to God.) David was an author, speaker, entrepreneur, and church planter. He and his wife Paula started two churches in the Nashville area. In 1989, they started Bellevue Community Church and they began ministry at The Gathering Nashville in 2007.David was well known for his humorous, motivational/inspirational style of encouraging people to live up to their God-given potential. He touched countless lives over his years of ministry and was one of the nation's leading voices in the emerging wireless, wall-less church revolution. His stated passion for God's calling on his life was to be "an agent of change with a message of hope to a world in pain." David is survived by wife Paula; daughters, Erin (Steve) McDuffie, Lindsey (Aaron) LaSuer and Paige Foster and her fiancé Dustin Del Rio. A memorial service to celebrate his life & ministry will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Brentwood Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors from noon to 3:30 pm with the memorial service following at 4:00 pm. Prayers for Paula, Erin & Steve, Lindsey & Aaron and Paige & Dustin are appreciated.
