WATKINS, Dr. Mary Lou, age 78 of Franklin, TN. August 24, 2013. Previously of Brownsville, TX. Dr. Mary Watkins was a professor of chemistry and nursing and Texas Western University. She was also a practicing physician for 40 years including service at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She spent her final working years at her own private practive in Brownsville, TX. Her favorite hobby was flying and was very passionate about it. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family, especially her grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Cloyd and Mary Snobarger; daughter, Mary Virginia Jackson. Survived by son, Stephen (Sheila) Witt; grandchildren, Will, Kate, Jake and Anna Witt, Macy and Matthew Jackson. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Happy Tails Humane Society, 230 Franklin Rd. Suite 1303, Franklin, TN 37064. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30AM Saturday, August 31, 2013 in Williamson Memorial Gardens, Jim Taylor.
