Elizabeth Gibson

Elizabeth "Smoaky" Gibson, age 92 of Franklin, TN passed away August 26, 2016. Born and raised in Winston Salem, NC. Attended Fairfax Hall in Virginia and UNC at Chapel Hill. Smoaky moved to New York City where she modeled and resided at Barbizon Hotel. Subsequently she became a stewardess for Eastern Airline. She married Joseph M. Gibson and moved to Atlanta, GA. Here she helped establish his dental career and pursued her interior design talents. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph McDonald Gibson and her brother, William Smoak of Camden, SC. She is survived by her daughter, Hayes Gibson of Franklin, TN. Memorial service will be held 5:00PM Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Grace Chapel.
