Mrs. Elsie Marie Dodd Poteete, age 87 of College Grove, TN passed away June 6, 2016. Survived by: husband of 70 years of marriage, Lighthall Poteete; daughters, Janice (Larry) Lowe, Peggy (Larry) Pitts & Vickie (Roger) Brake; sons, James Lighthall Poteete, Jr. & Tandy (Kathy) Poteete; 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren & other loving family members. Remember Marie as a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, with a love for helping and taking care of others. Marie & her husband opened the doors of their home as a Community Residential Care Home sponsors for America's veterans. For 37 years, she gave freely & unselfishly of herself as she continuously served others. She was a long time member of College Grove Church of Christ. She will be missed by all who knew her. We love you Mom. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Ed Slayton & Jasper Hatcher officiating. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Riley Sewell, Tom Fox, Roy Trice, Tim Flippen, Jasper Hatcher, George Hatcher, Bobby Frost, William Shepard, Jimmy King & members of College Grove Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to American Heart association or the Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund.
