Evan Fields Derry, age 20 was born on April 19, 1997 in Nashville, Tennessee to Tony and Kelly Derry of Franklin. Evan passed away on December 28, 2017 in Chattanooga and is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard Thomas Derry.
Evan is survived by his parents, Tony and Kelly Derry of Franklin, fraternal grandmother Alice Derry, of Brentwood, and maternal grandparents, Robert H. and Barbara S. Fields of Cookeville. He is also survived by his aunts, Von Derry and Lisa Fields Pinto (Michael), and uncle Mark Fields (Andrea), cousins Misty Keenan, Troy Hestle, Riley Fields, Jessie Fields, and M. J. Pinto. Evan also leaves behind his devoted girlfriend, Megan Andes, of Spring Hill whom he called the love of his life.
Evan was a 2015 graduate of BGA and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The things he lived for were his friendships and his family. Evan loved the outdoors and considered the mountains of Chattanooga his sanctuary. He cared deeply for animals. Kayaking, fishing, hiking, and family boating were how Evan loved to spend his time. His passion for physical fitness was instilled in him by his dad. Evan was a true creative and deep thinker - "outside the box" was his thing.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm at St. Philip's Catholic Church, 113 Second Avenue South, Franklin, Tennessee 37064. Following the Celebration of Life will be a time of fellowship with Evan's family and friends at St. Philip's Fellowship Hall. Parking is available in the public parking garage across from the church.
