Franziska Scheid Knoeferl, age 81 of Franklin, TN went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.
Franziska was born in Grabitz, Germany on April 16, 1936, daughter to the late Josef & Franziska Scheid.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Siegfried Knoeferl.
Survivors include her children, Marion (Jerry) Eledge & Alexander (Heather) Knoeferl; sisters, Elfriede Sattler & Erna Jones; 9 grandchildren (Ashleigh, Bradley, Allyson, Andrew, Derek, Zachary, Ryan, Mary, and Nathan) and numerous nieces & nephews.
In her life, Franziska traveled the world extensively throughout Europe, Northern Africa, and North America. She was an avid gardener, specializing in flowers with an emphasis on roses. She became extremely skilled at needlepoint and her works were proudly displayed throughout the walls of her home.
Of greatest importance to Franziska was her family. She was an extremely strong willed woman who underwent three international moves with her husband and children. Her continued strength and love for her family is evidenced most through the abundant legacy that she leaves behind in the form of nine wonderfully successful grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm with Father Zack Kirangu officiating.
Entombment will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens dogwood mausoleum.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
