Gary R. "Dutch" Von Ilg, age 80 of Franklin, TN. passed away January 13, 2019. Dutch was an artist by trade who loved to work with his hand creating all types of art through paintings and carvings of animals. He was a collector of Indian Art and Western artifacts. His passion was singing Rock and Roll music, in which he has cut several records. He was also a song writer and had several hit songs with recording artists, Percy Sledge, Lulu, Peaches and Herb and others. Additionally, he was signed to Capitol Records as a performing artist and was produced by legendary Nashville producer, Buddy Killen. Dutch is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Von Ilg. Survived by his brother in-law, Andrew "Butch" Varga and sister in-law, Judith Virostek. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Buffalo Bill Center of the West - Cody Firearms Museum. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 10:00-12:00 Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home.
