Geneda Stamps passed away on Saturday, September 24th. She was born on October 11, 1929 in Cumberland County, TN, the daughter of the late Linzey and Mattie England. Her family later moved to a humble, but loving home in the rural community of Grimsley, TN.
She was the youngest of three children and the apple of her father's eye. He bought her first set of wheels, a new bicycle. From that point on, she loved going as fast as she could, whether it was in her '57 Buick convertible, her Porsche 928, or her motorcycle.
Geneda married and moved to Nashville where she raised a family. She loved her children and raised them to believe there was nothing they couldn't accomplish. She passed that love on to the next generation with her grandchildren.
Geneda never met a stranger. She couldn't go into a grocery store or a waiting room without striking up a conversation with the people around her. It brought her joy to induce a smile or a laugh.
Geneda was loved by her family and friends and she will be missed. There is peace in knowing she's with God now. She is survived by daughter, Pat (Barry) Campbell and son, Denny (Stephanie) Stamps; grandchildren, Doug (Kristina) Campbell, Daniel (Melody) Campbell, Brad (Ivy) Stamps, Lauren Stamps, Hayden Goff and Savannah Goff; great granddaughter, Molly Rose Stamps.
Visitation will be at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 5-7PM. A private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Alive Hospice, to whom we are grateful. WILLIAMSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 615-794-2289, www.williamsonmemorial.com
