George Clark

November 7, 1937 — September 14, 2016

Mr. George Don Clark, age 78 of Franklin, TN went home to the Lord, September 14, 2016. He was a long time resident of Franklin. Retired from Williamson County Government after serving over 20 years of service. He was a probation officer and also a Sheriff's deputy in the courthouse. Prior to his employment with Williamson County, he worked for 35 years with Bell South Systems as an engineer. He was instrumental in starting the Williamson County Reserve Deputies which was a volunteer organization. Member of Church of the City. Very active in the GEMS Sunday School class and loved handing out bulletins every Sunday outside of the Chapel. He loved flying planes on his computer, reading & watching mysteries and westerns. Preceded in death by wife after 57 years of marriage, Margie F. Clark. Survived by: daughters, Cheryl (Rick) King of Spring Hill, TN & Mary Jean (Roger) Imai of Franklin, TN; brother, Robert "Bobby" Clark of Metairie, Louisiana; grandchildren, Heather Gillespie (Robbie) Thompson and Rikki King (Matt) Murphy; great grandchildren, Dalton, Keeley, Lena, Amelia Thompson and McCullough Murphy. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Church of the City. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Friday at the church and one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Williamson Memorial Gardens Remembrance Mausoleum. Honorary pallbearers will be the Williamson County Sheriff's Department and Reserve Deputies.
