Mr. George Clay Thompson, Jr., age 70, of Franklin, TN, passed away January 16, 2016. He was born in Williamson County, TN to the late George Clay Thompson, Sr. & Laura Gertrude Law Thompson. He retired after 50 years as an engineer. His employers included Doug Nash Engineering, Barrett Firearms, and he retired from Walker Die Casting. He was preceded in death by brother in-law Kirby Pollard. He is survived by his wife of eight years, Lynn L. Lewis Thompson of Franklin, TN; daughters Sarah Elizabeth (John) Kreisler of Grosse Pointe, MI and Heather Lynanne Thompson Ferrell of Smyrna, TN; sisters Elaine Pollard of Richmond, VA and Dorothy (Robert) Weathersby of Rocky Face, GA; grandchildren Clay & Mary Kate Kreisler, Zoe Ward and Donovan Ferrell. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Wednesday, January 20, 2016, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00AM Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Dr. Marty Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Greenbrier Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Cameron Fielder, Kevin Darrell, Ron Warbritton, Rick Norman, Tommy Harris, and Jason Hines. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Weathersby and employees of Walker Die Casting.
