Gerald Alton LeCroy, 76, of Franklin, TN died on April 28, 2015 in Saint Thomas West Hospital, Nashville, TN with his wife by his side. Gerald was born in Marietta, GA on June 5, 1938 to William Alton and Lois Lee LeCroy. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1956. In the summer before his senior year, he worked at Lockheed Martin assembling electric harnesses on airplanes. After graduating, he worked at Lockheed Martin installing electrical systems and testing circuits on C130, B47 and B29 airplanes.While working the midnight shift at Lockheed Martin, Gerald completed two years of college credit at a community college in Marietta, GA. He then attended Georgia State University, where he majored in accounting. He was inducted into the local chapter of Sigma Kappa Psi which later merged with Kappa Sigma. Gerald served as president of the Inter-Fraternity Council during his junior and senior years. During his last quarter of college, he worked as Assistant Comptroller at Lenox Square in Atlanta, GA. He graduated from Georgia State University in with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1960. After graduation, Gerald passed the exam to be a Certified Public Accountant and earned a year of college credit from Georgia State University toward a master's degree. In 1962 he began working as an auditor for Touche Ross & Co. in Atlanta, GA. He received his Certified Public Accounting certification in 1964 after fulfilling the required two years of accounting experience. While at Touche Ross & Co., he was Director of Audit Operations in 1968 and became a partner in 1970. He was one of the youngest partners in Touche Ross. In addition to his audit assignments, he worked in research and development in New York for a year. In July 1982 he married Dorothy (Dottie) Fielding Collins. With their marriage, he became a father to Kelli, age 16, and Kevin, age 14 in addition to his 14-year-old daughter Michelle by his previous marriage. In October 1982, he and his new family transferred with Touche Ross & Co. to Nashville, TN. The firm later became Deloitte & Touche. In 1986 Gerald established his own accounting practice and performed numerous business valuations, served as an expert witness in Chancery and Circuit Courts throughout Middle Tennessee and served as a Special Master and arbitrator in Davidson and Williamson Counties. In 1994, Gerald and Dottie moved from Nashville to Franklin, TN where they bought a mini-farm they named The Funny Farm. There they shared their love for animals, including their two Collies Ellie and Tori. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Alton and Lois LeCroy and brothers-in-law Sam Sanders and C. B. Mansell. He was a cherished family man who will be greatly missed by his wife of 32 years Dottie LeCroy of Franklin, TN, daughter Kelli Collins of Spring Hill, TN, son Kevin Collins of Spring Hill, TN, daughter Michelle and husband Robert Alexander of Jackson, MS; grandchildren Nicole and husband Kelly Church of Franklin, TN, Joshua Bell of Spring Hill, TN, Claire Sykes and Rives Alexander of Jackson, MS. and sisters Nita Sanders and Betty Mansell of Roswell, GA; brother-in-law John Fielding and wife Carol of Round Rock, TX and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 2, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin, TN with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating.
