Gilbert Newell, Jr.

NEWELL, Mr. Gilbert Vance, Jr., age 85 of College Grove, TN, April 6, 2012. Veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. Lifetime member of the VFW. Worked as a designer in the boot industry for 45 years. Preceded in death by first wife, Frances Teague Newell and three grandsons. Survived by: wife of 35 years, Sarah S. Newell; sons, Gilbert Allen (Brenda) Newell, James Robert Newell, John Tracy (Jannifer) Newell & David G. (Dianne) White; daughters, Lynda D. (Jim) Berryman, Dianna E. (Sidney) Petty, Jayne (Robert) Hornburger & Phyllis Ford; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, April 9, 2012 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Bro. Bobby Sadler & Jayne Hornburger. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Elvis Caldwell, Sheba & Rick Reed, Anita & Jerry Taylor & Bob Moran.
