Harry Isaacs

Harry Leonard Isaacs, age 88 of Nashville, TN passed away June 16, 2016. Leonard Isaacs was born in 1927 and was raised in Franklin, TN. A graduate of Franklin High School and the United States Armed Forces Institute, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served 9 years as a Hard Hat Deep Sea Diver and a Boatswain Mate First Class during WWII and the Korean War.
Leonard co-founded and co-lead "The Franklin Fellowship" that has met at the home of Darrell and Stevie Waltrip for over 34 years. Leonard was the co-founder of Christian Executive Officer, Inc., as well as, co-founding member and Elder of Immanuel Church - Nashville. He led monthly church services at the Nashville Flea Market for over 20 years. At the age of 83 he began writing and authored four books about Franklin, Franklin, Tennessee: The Jewel of the Harpeth.
Leonard managed the Tennessee operations for Untied States Fidelity and Guaranty Insurance Companies and the Fidelity and Guaranty Life Insurance Companies. He served on the board of many companies including the following: Chairman of the Board, Harpeth National Bank, Franklin, TN; Chairman of the Board, Diversico, Inc., a supplier for the Harley Davidson Company, Minneapolis, MN; Chairman of the Board, "Served With Pride", a franchise company for numerous Hardee's Restaurants throughout the Southeast; Chairman of the Boards of nine insurance companies; Chairman of the Board, ShurVault; Chairman of Board, Tennessee Metal Works; Chairman of the Board, The International Radio and Electronics Corporation; Chairman of the Board, Crown Broadcasting Inc., Elkhart, IN; Board Member, Crown International, a $90m manufacturing company; Vice-Chairman of the Board, American Teltronics Corporation; Board Member, Williamson Christian College - two terms as Chairman and Board Member, State of Tennessee Builder's Group.
Leonard was preceded in death by parents, Harry Perkins and Lillie Mae Timmons Isaacs; infant son, David Leonard Isaacs and sister, Martha Ann Isaacs. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Ann Isaacs; children, Dale (Janet) Isaacs, Alan (Lynn) Isaacs, and Lea Ann (Rusty) Owens; seven grandchildren and hundreds of friends. He led a full, fun and remarkable life!
Funeral service will be held 1:00PM Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Ray Ortlund, Jr. and Hal Hadden officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Family & Friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men from the Franklin Fellowship. Memorials may be made to Compass World Outreach FBO Feed Franklin First.
