Henry Whitehead, Jr.

Henry C. "Pete" Whitehead passed away on January 1, 2016. He was born December 21, 1940 in West Palm Beach, FL to Henry Curtis and Quay Cadle Whitehead, who preceded him in death. Survived by his loving wife, Ida Whitehead; sons, Barry Whitehead, Ken Whitehead (Delene) and daughter, Laura Jenkins (McLean), 6 grandchildren; sister, Nancy Castor, Palm Harbor, FL. and brother, Dr. Ben Whitehead (Kathy) of Huntington, TN.
Pete grew up in Donelson (Nashville, TN) and attended schools there. He graduated from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN in 1962. His working career was predominantly with E.I. DuPont de Nemours starting in 1968 in Old Hickory (Nashville, TN), before transferring to Athens, GA and finally to Wilmington, DE where he traveled globally as a Senior Consultant for DuPont Fire & Safety. He was a member of Clearview Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Monday, January 4, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, John Duval officiating. Interment will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Visitation is being held 5-7:00PM Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday all at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse P.O. Box 3000 Boone, N.C. 28607.
