MILLS, Mr. Herbert Devon, age 62 of Columbia, TN.
Devon was born in Philadelphia MS, and raised in Atlanta. He graduated Briarcliff High School in DeKalb County in1969 then studied at the University of Georgia in Athens GA as a music major and was selected to be on the "Red Coat Marching Band" and the University orchestra.
Devon worked for General Motors in Doraville, GA then move to the Saturn GM plant in Spring Hill, TN where he retired from General Motors in 2009.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Herbert and Ivie Jenkins Mills, both of Neshoba County, Philadelphia MS. Survived by son, Travis (Brittany) Mills; daughters, Shannon (Norman) Morrison and Devon Treadaway; six grandchildren and brother, Del (Kathi) Mills and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, Jim Taylor officiating. Interment, Greens Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends to serve as pallbearers. Memorials may also be made in lieu of flowers to American Heart Association in his name.
Visitation will be 5-8:00PM Saturday and one hour prior to the service at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, 5239 Main St. Spring Hill, TN. 37174.
