GODKIN, Israel Allen died July 10, 2010 while in Washington state. He was born March 6, 1986 to Allen and Maleine in Tacoma, WA and raised in San Diego, CA. He lived in Tennessee for the past 2 years. A musician, he played the bass and sang with his brothers, The Godkins, a popular gospel group. He was an avid fan and participant in sports, especially football, playing for Southwestern College. Israel is survived by his loving wife, Pele of Spring Hill, TN; parents, Allen and Maleine; brothers, Ishmael (Angelina) Godkin, Isaac Godkin; sisters-in-law, Tiare Houk of Memphis, TN, Laini (Travis) Goodlett of Enumclaw, WA; nephews, Terenn Houk and Esias Goodlett; mother-in-law, Luanei Houk; father-in-law, Walter Houk, Jr.; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Israel was best known for his kind and loving spirit. He touched the lives of many and will be missed by all.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday, July 19, 2010 from 10:00 am until noon at Bethel World Outreach Center, 5670 Granny White Pike, Brentwood, TN. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm at the same location. Interment Spring Hill Memorial Park, Spring Hill, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be submitted to The Israel Godkin Memorial Fund at any branch of First Tennessee Bank (Acct.
