Jack Walton, Jr., of the Grassland community in Franklin, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at age 62. He was loved dearly by his family and friends, and will be remembered for his dedicated servant-leadership to his community.
Jack served as a member of the Williamson County Commission for 20 years. During his tenure, he was a member of the Planning Commission, the Board of Trustee's for Williamson Medical Center, and was unanimously elected to lead as Chairman of the County Commission for eight years. Aside from his service to the Williamson County community, Jack owned Mid-Tenn Rubber Stamp in Nashville, Tenn., with affiliate businesses in photography, videography and real estate.
Those who knew him describe him as a genuine, kind-hearted man of faith who consistently aimed to serve those around him. In addition to his service in the community, Jack participated in a Vanderbilt research study that resulted in significantly slowing the progression of kidney disease. Because of his selfless involvement in this study, and the efforts of researcher Dr. Julia Lewis, patients throughout the world have greatly postponed their need for dialysis and kidney transplantation.
Jack was preceded in death by parents Jack Walton, Sr., and Melba (Horner) Walton. A dedicated father and loving husband, Jack is survived by wife Patricia (Feldhaus) Walton, daughter Amy (Matthew) Phillips, son Jack (Chloe) Walton, III, daughter Kellie (fiancé Matthew Benz) Walton; brother Michael (Adrian) Walton; and grandchildren Eli, Lucy and Wes (Phillips), and Harper and Graham (Walton).
A visitation with service to follow will be held Wednesday, June 13th, 2018, from 4-8:00 p.m., with a vigil service beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church 535 Sneed Rd West Franklin, TN on Thursday, June 14th, 2018, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers; Bill Walton, Matthew Phillips, Matthew Benz, Paul Webb, Ben Bratcher and John Beard. Williamson County Government will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
