Mr. James Lewis Forrest, age 93 of Franklin, TN passed away February 21, 2015. Native of Chattanooga, TN. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Married for 68 years to Doris "Ruth" Bass; World War II vet, awarded two bronze stars while serving in Europe, including the Battle of the Bulge. Rank of Sergeant, A&P Platoon, 94th Division, 3rd Army under General George Patton. Respected building contractor, both heavy construction and residential and commercial remodeling. Expert in prestressed concrete, was the inventor of Corewall™ and the designer of a one-piece folded plate used in the construction of Sharpstown Center in Houston, the largest single piece of concrete ever moved in the state of Texas at the time in 1961. Survived by: wife, Doris "Ruth" Bass Forrest; daughter, Linda Carol Forrest (Robert) Trotter; grandchildren, Heather Scarlett Trotter and Justin Forrest Trotter; sister, Louise Forrest (Charles) Jeffery and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, February 27, 2015 at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.
