James Raymond (Jim) Hart, age 62, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Tuesday, June 7th from complications of a recent heart attack. Jim was born in St. Joseph, Missouri and attended the University of Missouri - Columbia. He relocated to Franklin in 1990 to work for Saturn/General Motors, until he was disabled following a cardiac arrest in 2007. Always kind, friendly and loquacious, Jim was a devoted husband and father. In years past, he was an avid tennis player and voracious reader (especially of Sherlock Holmes). He was the life of every party, full of stories and good humor. Always interested in a good political discussion, he was a passionate believer in tolerance and equality for all. He is survived by Karen, his wife of 34 years, three children (Makenna Hart, a senior at Boston University, Megan Speaks of Springfield, Missouri, James Hart Jr. of Knoxville), four grandchildren (Asher, Gavin, Corbin, Riley), his mother Wanda Hart of Green Valley, Arizona, his brother Robert Hart of Hamilton, Canada, and a favorite aunt Ruth Maeder of Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away at home, surrounded by family that included his beloved niece Albina Hart, sisters-in-law Barbara Bell and Denise Hart, and cat Everest. The family will welcome friends to celebrate his life at Jim's home on Saturday, June 11 between 5pm and 8pm (please R.S.V.P. to Karen at 615-202-2295).
