SMITH, James "Jim" C., age 65 of Spring Hill, TN, May 25, 2014. Born in Richmond, VA to the late Ed & Beatrice Wilkins Smith. He grew up in Columbia, TN where he attended First Presbyterian Church. Graduate of Columbia Central High School where he served as Student body President, played football and was an Eagle Scout receiving many awards for his achievements. Following high school he attended the University of Tennessee and joined the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Jim would go on to become involved in the restaurant industry where over the years he worked for many restaurant concepts across the country. Then he and his brother started Lighten Up Foods, LLC and opened Shane's Rib Shack where Jim was known as Jim-Bob. The store was open from March 2006 to January 2013. Survived by wife, Christie Smith; children, Lauren, Nicholas, Julia, Heather and Joseph; grandson, Madden; brother, Ed (Pam) Smith; niece & nephew, Kristin & Cleveland; great-nephew, Gabriel. Alexander. Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00AM Friday, May 30, 2014 at Thompsons Station Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Maury County Animal Shelter, 1233 Mapleash Ave. Columbia, TN 38401.
