James Lincoln III

October 31, 1938 — March 31, 2015

Mr. James William Lincoln III, age 76 of Franklin, TN passed away March 31, 2015. Graduated from Central High School in Nashville, 1956. Attended David Lipscomb College in 1960 and Cumberland School of Law which closed before he graduated. Received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University. He was employed with the State Department of Transportation and Associates Capital Corporation. He retired after 20 years service from Steltemeier and Westbrook. Mr. Lincoln was very active with community service including Crisis Call (suicide prevention) counselor and Board of Directors, 1975-1977; President of Middle Tennessee Chapter of 7th Step Foundation (prison rehabilitation and reform); Board of Directors Southwest YMCA (awarded Man of the Year) 1976-1977; Cancer drive chairman; Little League baseball coach, county magistrate and Red Cross volunteer. He enjoyed spending time with family whom he loved dearly, fishing, studying all sects of religion and Native American heritage, yoga (taught it at Y), camping and Alabama football. Survived by: wife of 55 years, Shirley Lincoln; sons, Keith (Jan) Lincoln & Mike (Marcy) Lincoln; daughter, Laura (Mike) Anderson; brother, Curtis (Sharon) Lincoln; grandchildren, Rachel, Bobby & Josh Anderson, Caroline & William Lincoln, Ryan (Lauren) & Jessica Milewicz & great grandchild, Sloan Milewicz. Memorial gathering will be 5-8PM Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
