James “Garrett James” Mains, passed away on September 9, 2022. He was a world-renown fisherman, an avid hunter, a musician, and a skilled electrician. During his career with the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers, he had the opportunity to work on Nashville’s most iconic building, the Batman Building (also known to non-locals as the AT&T Building). Even more impressive than that, he was best known for having caught the largest fish of every species from Tennessee to Pennsylvania. As a self-appointed country music star, his goal in life was to bring a smile to people’s faces with music. He had a deep passion for music, writing songs, creating music and playing for others who shared his love for tunes. Most of all he loved his family. He is greeted in heaven by his mother, Irva Mains. He is survived by: his father, William Mains of Jeannette, PA; wife of 35 years, Elaine Anne Hilton-Mains of Franklin, TN; sisters, Leslie Mains of Dallastown, PA, Kathy Leonard of Delmont, PA, Lee Ann Reed of Davenport, FL; children, Dorian Mains and life-partner Kenneth Hughes, J. Coulter Mains and fiancée Sarah Brown, Garrett Mains, Elizabeth Mains and husband Edward A. Larwig, Jerrod Mains; grandchildren, Leighton Mains, Meira Hughes, Billie Anne Mains, Baby Boy Hughes. James is a son, husband, father, grandfather, cowboy, and he will be severely missed by those who loved him most. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11am at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home.
