James Hood

James Robert "Bobby" Hood, Sr., age 73 of Franklin, TN passed away October 3, 2019. He retired from the Kroger Company after 42 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. Bobby loved fishing, bluegrass music, high school basketball and spending time with family. The light of his life was his six grandchildren who called him "Poppie". Preceded in death by parents, Robert, Jr. and Margaret Jean Hood, sister, Judy King and brothers, Larry Hood and David "Cucklebur" Hood. Survived by: wife of 52 years, Faye Hood; son, James Robert Jr. (Angela) Hood; daughter, Jennifer (Jerry) Moore; sister, Jane (Eddie) Chunn; grandchildren, Hannah, Claire, Brayden Hood and Kaitlyn, Kelsey and Addison Moore; mother in law, Bettie Stovall and other loving family members. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday, October 7, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Elder Doyle Hurst and John "Bubba" Ham. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Tim King, Richard King, Brad Chunn, Brian Taylor, Brent Skinner, Dudley Stovall, Jr. and Larry Skinner. Honorary pallbearers will be special niece, Lynn Bennett, Eddie Chunn, Robert "Stretch" Hester, Carey Reynolds, Gene King, Jerry Moore and Noble Carothers. Memorials may be made to Brightstone, 140 SE Pkwy Ct., Franklin, TN 37064.
