James Shearer

March 27, 1922 — April 21, 2014

Shearer, Mr. James Addie, age 92 of Franklin, TN, April 21, 2014. Retired Electrical Engineer with Cottrell & House, then later became Telephone Data Systems. While serving in the United States Navy during WWII James received the American Area Campaign Medal and the Victory Medal. James graduated from Cumberland College and the University of Louisville. James also served as the Mallory Valley Water District Commissioner. He was a member at Berry's Chapel Church of Christ for 36 years and then became a member at College Grove Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by wife, Maggie Virginia Boley Shearer; parents, Addie "Poli" and Eula Rose Cook Shearer. Survived by daughter, Rosemary (Bill) Nolen, Covington, TN; sons, Rusty (Jean) Shearer and Joe Shearer all of College Grove, TN; sister, Sibyl Wilson, Pulaski, TN; grandchildren, Will (Dawn) Nolen, Andy Nolen, Alexandria (Sam) Reilly, Rebecca & Matthew Shearer, Aaren Shearer; great grandchildren, Tanner, Tucker & Tayler Nolen, Lillian Opal Reilly and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00PM Friday, April 25, 2014 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Jerry Ladd officiating. Interment, Williamson Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Grandsons & Great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice Foundation or The Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Fund.
